The American Red Cross in Southeastern Michigan provides disaster relief in times of crisis, collects and processes blood donations, and educates people on how to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. Assistance twenty-four hours-a-day to families in southeast Michigan who are trying to reach loved ones in the U.S. armed forces during an emergency. During times of disaster or war there may be a short moratorium on messages to the military.

The American Red Cross International Tracing program helps locate relatives who may have been separated by disaster, such as tornadoes, earthquakes, and acts of war or conflict. During times of disaster or war there may be a short moratorium on messages to people in the affected areas.
Blood Services: 1-800-GIVE-LIFE
The Southeastern Michigan Blood Services Region holds mobile blood drives throughout Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, and St. Clair counties and has nine donor centers. These donations are used to supply red blood cells, platelets, and plasma to patients in 52 hospitals in southeast Michigan.
