American Red Cross Offers Babysitting Boot Camp for Area Youth

The American Red Cross, Southeastern Michigan Chapter is offering a two-day Babysitting Boot Camp for girls and boys ages 11-15, to give them all the tools they need to be the best babysitter in the neighborhood. The Boot Camp will include hands-on activities, exciting videos, role-playing, and lively discussions for those babysitting infants up through school-aged children.
Participants will learn such things as feeding, diapering and dressing infants and children. They will also become instructed in first aid, sudden illness and choking emergencies, and will receive a Red Cross sling bag, Babysitters training handbook with CD ROM, and certifications in both Red Cross Babysitters Training and First Aid and Child Infant CPR.

June 23 and 24 (Wednesday and Thursday), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHY:
Participants will gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for children in a variety of daily and emergency situations, and increase their earning potential as a babysitter.
