What is a Red Cross School Club?
American Red Cross school clubs are school-based service groups that offer students the opportunity to put your talent, skills and passion to work for a greater purpose and connect you with the largest humanitarian movement in the world. Working closely with the American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Chapter, club members participate in Red Cross service projects that impact their community and the world. Clubs choose activities that will address the community’s greatest needs. Clubs enable young people to make their community and the world a better place while providing an opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills.

Why should our school have a Red Cross Club?
- Clubs provide students with the opportunity to learn valuable skills; leadership, personal development and social awareness.
- Colleges are looking for leaders, decision-makers and young people with a heart for service. Involvement in a Red Cross Club can show all of these.
- Youth love helping in their own communities…there is no better way for them to do this than starting in their school.
- Many schools now require community service hours as a graduation requirement; this is just one more way a student can gain hours!
- The American Red Cross staff and volunteers will be there to support the clubs.
What specific activities do Red Cross Clubs do?
- The American Red Cross staff and volunteers will work with the students to guide students through projects that best suit the interests of the members in the Red Cross Club.
- The American Red Cross also offers students the opportunity to host blood drives, participate in chapter service events and fundraising opportunities.
